Mpumalanga Health department has expressed regrets over Covid 19 statistic errors.

The Mpumalanga department has said this is due to the growing number of infections of coronavirus cases, that the department has noticed with regret an error in which was on the 29 June 2020 Statistics shared on social media.

The department says the error in numbers was noticed and rectified to assure the public that the department strives only to communicate reliable and accurate information.

The department has further explained to the public regarding the matter raised by community members about the delay in issuing Provincial Statistics.

“This is caused by the fact that the policy says provinces can only release COVID-19 statistics of their province after the Minister has pronounced national statistics. The province must analyse the data and verify misallocation before releasing to the public”

The province has by today recorded a total of 1 469 positive cases, with 520 recoveries, meanwhile seven people have already lost their lives.
